What membership means

Being a member of Dance Camp North means belonging to an organisation of people with shared ideals.

The main ideal is a love of the camp we create each summer and the people it brings together. It is a way of sharing the energy we create throughout the year. The members form a community with a centre in the North of England, but members everywhere and they contribute to a sense of caring brought through a sense of an extended family. Members contribute to the camp and many other events throughout the year.

Members buy into the ideals mapped out by the constitution of our organisation and being a member helps to recognise that we need financial, physical and spiritual energy to keep going. Paying a regular small fee of £2 a month helps us continue to keep that community going into the future. As with everything else there are costs and whilst all our events are self-funding, there are costs needed to keep equipment safe and secure, maintain communication through the website and forum, postage and paper and so on. The summer camp in particular is where we put maximum effort into ensuring there are many flexible ways to help balance financial inputs with the physical and spirit energies we bring.
