January 27 – 29 2017
Open fires, old country house, beautiful countryside, good food, old friends and new – what’s not to like? We gather at the beginning of each new year to reconnect following the festive period and it always feels good to remind ourselves how important our DCN community is.
The weekend is very relaxed, and has no formal structure – in essence we just ‘hang out’ together. We create our meals together in the large communal kitchen and eat together in the dining room. There are walks on offer on Saturday for those feeling energetic, or you can relax in the house, whatever you feel like doing…….
We have built a lot of trust and friendship over the years, so it is a very supportive and nurturing environment to be in, and a safe and large space for our young people to feel free to express themselves – a lot like camp really!
There is usually a members meeting on Sunday morning where we can express our wishes re: all matters DCN, which is not compulsory, but advisable if you want to have your say and make a difference, remember, it’s ‘our’ community!
