In celebration of Carito

Many of you have have been to camp over the years can't help but know Carito. She was a wonderful, free, giving spirit who touched the lives of all who met her. She passed from this life in February 2009. Many from our community were involved in caring for her at the end of her life, and many more joined in the celebration that her mother, Margo, arranged for her. Margo is organising a memorial bench for Carito, to be put in the clearing where her life celebration was held, next to the cherry trees that were planted for Cartio and her Great Aunt Sally. The place was important to Carito, and she chose it herself. Dance Camp would like to help raising the funds for this wonderful project, and if anyone would like to contribute, please donate via the Paypal button.

Carito chose the Celtic blessing (as ever, changing the words to suit her), which will be present on the bench, as a brass plaque:

May the road rise with you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall soft upon your fields
Until we meet again I will hold you
in the hollow of my heart.
